Let your Faith Be Bigger than Your Fear

Faith is something that all believers should be striving to have. Having faith is necessary and crucial to our walk with God.

In this life, we will go through many situations where are faith and trust in God will be tested! There will be times when unexpected things happen that our out of our control. There will be times when our circumstances and life looks completely opposite of what the Lord has spoken over us and spoken in His Word.

During those times, the Lord desires for us to exercises our faith and believe what He has spoken over us instead of believing what we see. But also during these times, the enemy desires for us to curse God, doubt the character of God and doubt his word and what he has spoken.

A perfect example is Job! He went through a lot and he was really tested in his faith but in the end the Lord restored to him double of everything that was lost. When we go through certain situations and trials, it really reveals how genuine our faith is. God already knows where our faith is at but our response during trials reveals to us where are heart is and if our faith is completely in God or our circumstances and the things we have.

What I find so interesting about this story, is how God specifically recommended Job to go through trials. It’s because God trusted Job. We put our trust in God but it’s beautiful when He can trust us! When he can trust that our faith is going to be proven genuine and that we are going to trust in Him no matter what is happening. That is the type of faith that God is looking for.

I also think about the three Hebrew boys in the fiery furnace. They truly trusted in God in his ability to deliver them but they also trusted his sovereignty.

Daniel 3:17-18 NKJV

“If that is the case, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king. But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up.”

Do you know how much faith that takes, to say that to a king and to say that when you are literally facing death? They had every right to let their fear be bigger than their faith. They could have bowed down to try to save their lives but they didn’t because their complete faith and confidence was in God. That type of confidence and faith is what God desires for us all to have. The type of faith where we will not be shaken by what is going on around us. The type of faith where we will not come into agreement and bow down to what we see the enemy doing, but we bow to the Lord only and come into agreement with His Word!

Also, the Lord desires for us to declare His word over what we see! Many times we will declare what we see over God’s word. For example, when it comes to finances, maybe your bank account is looking kinda crazy and instead of speaking God’s word you’re saying things like. “I never have enough money for my bills or I’m always broke.” Instead of speaking God’s word which says

“I’m blessed in the city and in the field” OR “The Lord will bless me as he promised and I will lend to many nations but will borrow from none.” OR “The Lord has given me the power to gain wealth.”

Or maybe it’s your health, and your saying,

“I’m always sick or my body is always in pain when the word of God says “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.”

Our words are SO powerful and important.

Proverbs 18:20-21

“A man’s stomach will be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; He will be satisfied with the consequence of his words. Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it and indulge it will eat its fruit and bear the consequences of their words. [Matt 12:37]”

So you will literally be full of what you speak. You will see what you speak! In the beginning, When God created the world, he spoke what he wanted to see!

Genesis 1:1-3 NKJV

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.”

Hebrews 11:1-3 NKJV

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.”

So if you are speaking DEATH over every area of your life, that is what you are going to see in your life. But if you are speaking LIFE, which is the Word of God over every area of your life, you will see the Word of God become manifest in every area of your life.

John 6:63 NKJV

“It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.”

Hebrews 4:12 NKJV

“For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

The word of God is so powerful and His Word stands above the facts that we see around us. Another perfect example of faith is Abraham when it came to believing God’s promises over His life.

Romans 4: 18-22 TPT

“Against all odds, when it looked hopeless, Abraham believed the promise and expected God to fulfill it. He took God at his word, and as a result he became the father of many nations. God’s declaration over him came to pass:

“Your descendants will be so many

that they will be impossible to count!”

In spite of being nearly one hundred years old when the promise of having a son was made, his faith was so strong that it could not be undermined by the fact that he and Sarah were incapable of conceiving a child. He never stopped believing God’s promise, for he was made strong in his faith  to father a child. And because he was mighty in faith and convinced that God had all the power needed to fulfill his promises, Abraham glorified God!

So now you can see why Abraham’s faith was credited to his account as righteousness before God.  And this declaration was not just spoken over Abraham, but also over us. For when we believe and embrace the one who brought our Lord Jesus back to life, perfect righteousness will be credited to our account as well. Jesus was handed over to be crucified for the forgiveness of our sins and was raised back to life to prove that he had made us right with God! "

My favorite part of this scripture is when it says that his faith was so strong that it could not be undermined by the fact that he and Sarah  were incapable of conceiving.

Think about that for a minute. His faith was so strong that it could not be destroyed or ruined by the facts because he truly believed in what God had spoken to him and he believed in God’s character and that God was who He said He was.

And so I just wanted to encourage you all to truly let your faith be bigger than your fears and take some time  to mediate on the Word of God and allow it to really minister to you and get in your spirit. The word of God also says that faith comes by hearing and hearing the word of God. So I encourage you all to look up different scriptures about the areas in your life where you are struggling to trust God and in and speak and declare it!

This is something that I have been practicing in my own life. Speaking daily confessions over my life. I haven’t been as consistent as I should be but I definitely am going to be more consistent in this month and the rest of 2026. I actually created a 30 day speak life challenge a couple of years ago and I’m going to start it again. It’s basically 30 days of praying and speaking the Word of God over your life and there’s 30 different topics. So if you want to join me in this challenge, you can download the free e-book below.
